Replit 10 Buildathon

Using Free Agent · Democratizing creation

In sync. Present.

keep going

Replit just democratized who gets to build software.

vybesync is what democratized creation looks like when it lands inside a venue.

Live music and performing arts run on the labor of people whose job is to be invisible. Security. Door staff. Production crews. Ushers. The GM running on three hours of sleep. They are the lifeblood of every room you’ve ever loved, and they have been quietly paying the cost of bad operations software for forty years.

vybesync is the first ops platform built for them, by one of them.

The 24 hours is when it goes public.

Hour 0 · what’s already real

  • A multi-screen staff app on Cloudflare, backed by Supabase with full Row-Level Security
  • Pre-shift flow with brief notes, radio assignment, checklist signoffs, readiness gating
  • Live Mode for in-shift action handling
  • Lead/Manager Dashboard for real-time transparency
  • Artist dossiers tied to Spotify catalog data
  • vybecount as a real-time multi-area capacity counter, on Supabase
  • A management web app for shift setup, brief editing, venue maps, and staff roles
  • A locked design system, brand voice, and structural commitments

Hour 24 · what we’re making real

  • vybecount + vybesync wired into one connected backend
  • Shift management and incident logs shipped as MVP v1
  • This page, this commitment, and the soul of vybesync going public

Ya boy is ambitious. Just wait to see what else happens in 24 ;)

5:1 compensation ratio

No one on a vybesync team earns more than five times the lowest-paid full-time member. Not a founder cap. A team cap.

As we grow, we don’t grow one team larger. We seed more 5:1 teams. Every team is its own small ecosystem of dignity, with its own abundance floor and its own abundance ceiling.

The goal is to make the person at the bottom of every team live in abundance, because the people at the top already understand they’re so beyond abundance that all they want to do is give back.

4% of gross revenue, reinvested permanently

Goes back to the communities the platform serves, regardless of margin. Anyone using vybesync gets to weigh in on how that money is spent.

Profit beyond a sustainability threshold goes back to culture

Pop-up shows. Production classes. Showcases for the talent inside every venue we serve.

What that looks like in practice: imagine vybesync gets big enough that we randomly select a venue using the platform and host a free show for their staff. Other vybesync venues’ staff volunteer to work the night so the home venue’s people get to enjoy what they spend their lives making possible.

Now imagine Audra McDonald shows up unannounced to perform that show for the staff of Bass Concert Hall in Austin, and ushers from theatres in Houston and Dallas drove in to work the doors so the Bass team gets to sit in the audience.

Or Fred again teaches a production class to every working tech at a venue that’s been using vybesync for a year. The class is free. The staff who took it now know things they could never have afforded to learn.

That’s not a stretch goal. That’s the company. That’s why we’re capping pay. That’s what the 4% is for.

The goal of vybesync is to make venues run so smoothly that operations are invisible and guests are present for every drop, every moment, every time Innerbloom hits 5:46 or you start crying when Collins sings the I’ll Cover You (Reprise). Those moments can only happen because of the people who are the lifeblood of those venues, and they deserve to be honored with the same energetic reciprocity that they give every person who sets foot on a dance floor or buys a ticket to a matinee.

You cannot fake a synced room.
Guests feel it without knowing why.

vybesync exists because I, Sean Josephs, know what it's like to get home at 5am after working 12 hours protecting a community I love and know that bad operations software costs the body and the brain. Before working in the EDM community, I spent fifteen years in big tech in roles focused on learning and development, and before that I was a theatre major. The product reflects that. The design and ecosystem come from inhabiting and loving both spaces.

The Replit 10 Buildathon is the right stage because vybesync is what democratization of creation looks like once the tools democratize. Replit lowered the floor for who gets to build. vybesync is what one of those builders does when they pick a problem the venture economy was never going to fund — because the problem belongs to people the venture economy doesn’t see.

24 hours. One person. One platform. Going public.

If that earns your Replicash, throw it. If it earns your attention, give it. If it earns your name on the founding member list, leave your email below.
